About me

I am currently doing my Ph.D. in econometrics at the University of St.Gallen. My main research focus lies in applying machine learning methods to finance.

I spend most of my time programming and learning about subjects I enjoy; these subjects relate to statistics and mathematics more often than not. While most of my professional experience has been with either Python or R, I am first and foremost a Julia enthusiast, as you might gather from some of my posts.

About this page

Learning is a lengthy process. I believe that a crucial part of this process is explaining concepts to oneself or others, i.e., learning by teaching. Hence, I try to write blog posts about both things I think are helpful and subjects I want to explore in more depth. Perhaps some of these posts can be helpful to you as well.
